Non-maternal instinct: three British women told why they did not want to have children

Most women dream of experiencing the joy of motherhood, but in modern society, views on this have already changed. Not everyone wants to have children, and some are even glad that they don't have kids. Three British women openly told why they did not want to become mothers. The British woman adores her nieces and often spends time with them. Ms. Murphy believes that not all women are programmed to give birth and raise babies. Colleagues and relatives often ask her if she is infertile, why she does not become a mother. Some even suspected her of non-traditional sexual orientation.

Parents hope that the children will take care of them in old age, but Fiona considers such an obligation unfair. She has many childless friends who support each other. In addition, the woman has a horse, a labrador and a cat, who replace her children, giving the mistress their love and devotion.

63-year-old Isi Hann works in television. She lives in Suffolk with her 59-year-old husband Richard.

In December 1992, the woman underwent a serious operation after she had an ectopic pregnancy. At that time, she was 35 years old, and she wanted to have a baby, even though it was unplanned. But at Easy's fallopian tube burst. After the operation, the doctors said that she would no longer be able to become a mother.

Easy began to build a career in television in 1984. She liked work, and even more — hanging out with friends. The British woman had many boyfriends, but she did not start a serious relationship.

Since then, the woman realized that she would never become a mother. She bought a dog and began to devote a lot of time to her nephews. In March 2001, a woman met her future husband, Richard, on a blind date. The couple got married in 2003. Both knew that they would not have children, but they did not consider either adoption or surrogacy. The couple travel around the world, discovering new countries. They visited Malta, Jamaica, Barbados and other exotic places.

In 2016, Isi fell ill with leukemia. Richard has become a reliable support for her. A year later, they went on a cruise to the Caribbean Islands, and once again exchanged vows of loyalty. Although the British woman sometimes feels sad that she never became a mother, she is grateful for everything that fate has given her.

48-year-old Vicki Price is a lawyer and consultant on prisoners' rights. She is single and lives in London.

In 1989 , Vicky entered the University of the West of England to the Faculty of Law. She was an activist, took part in events dedicated to the protection of human rights. The girl was an assistant in a nursery for the children of prisoners, but never wanted to have a child of her own.

The British woman's career was developing rapidly. She has traveled all over the world, including Thailand, Armenia, Ethiopia, Ukraine, as a human rights activist. In 2004, Vicky became a Legal officer from the UN in Kosovo, she was engaged in the protection of the rights of minorities.

The longest relationship was formed in Kosovo and lasted for two years. But Vicky's heart was broken — she could not be with her beloved because of different religious views. In 2005 , the woman left Kosovo. The British woman still communicates with her ex-boyfriend, but he has already married another one. After parting with her lover, Vicky became very cautious, afraid to feel heartache again. Since then, she has not had a serious relationship, although she has dated several men.

The woman has been single for several years, and claims that she feels great. She doesn't have enough time to chat on dating sites and search for her soulmate. Vicky does not rule out that she may get married in the future, but prefers a free relationship that does not commit to anything. While the British woman feels young and full of energy, she does not want to think about old age.

Vicky does not envy mothers, seeing how much nerves they spend on raising children. She enjoys relaxing, traveling and having fun evenings surrounded by friends. When relatives ask Vicky why she doesn't want to become a mother, she always changes the subject.
