Even those who consider themselves hyperrealists prefer an ideal female body. But there are exceptions. Soviet and Russian painter Viktor Lyapkalo prefers not to embellish anything. He paints women as they are and there is a charm in their emphasized imperfection. (Careful! Nude).
Viktor Alexandrovich Lyapkalo was born in 1956 in Komi ASSR, in the city of Ukhta. He started drawing at school, preferring portraits and urban landscapes. In 1978, he graduated from the Saratov Art College, after which he immediately entered the painting faculty of the I. E. Repin LIZHSA in Leningrad.
Having received a diploma of an artist of painting and a teacher in 1987, Viktor Lyapkalo actively engaged in creativity. His paintings, which for certain reasons were not exhibited before Perestroika turned out to be very popular. The master began to participate in Russian and foreign exhibitions and soon he was known not only in his homeland, but also in Germany, Holland, Belgium, USA, Japan and other countries.
Today, Viktor Lyapkalo's paintings are sold at auctions and can be found in galleries and private collections around the world. Connoisseurs of the nude genre are captivated by the artist's unusual approach to work. It can be said that the gradation of his art is in a wide range from the beautiful to the disgusting.
Lyapkalo's models are far from modern beauty standards. On his canvases they are the same as in life, with all the advantages and disadvantages. Most of the women in the paintings of the master are full. When asked why he chooses such models, Lyapkalo replies that this is the Slavic standard of beauty. He jokes that "there should be a lot of beloved bodies" and continues to sing about massive hips and impressive breasts.
And a lapse is always a great sense of humor. The author does not mock his heroes, he just boldly jokes. Viktor Alexandrovich often laughs at himself. A thin man with a mustache and glasses, who can be seen in many paintings — this is the author.
