Joyce Lee - the artist called the Dali of the 21st century

Joyce Lee's paintings are bright, erotic and, at first glance, completely incomprehensible. This Korean artist works in the genre of surrealism, but at the same time focuses on sexuality. Lee is sometimes called the Salvador Dali of the 21st century, for the deep symbolism and spectacle of his paintings. Artist Joyce Lee was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. She drew while still at school, but did not see herself as an artist in the future. Lee dreamed of becoming a philologist and therefore graduated from the university with a degree in English language and literature.

After receiving her diploma, the girl worked for some time in airlines. But over time, she realized that her calling was still drawing and painting. And Lee started all over again. She quit her job and entered Seoul National University.

With a BFA, Joyce Lee began working as an artist. Not everything worked out right away, but over time the original master was noticed and began to give serious orders. As an illustrator, Lee has worked with respected publications such as Playboy and Numero Berlin. The Learning Company, LG Corporation, FIAT Motors and many others ordered advertising from her.

The artist prefers to work with pencils and watercolors. The main theme of her paintings is aspects of love and sexuality, expressed by the symbolism of the human body, as well as natural objects. Lee often touches on the topic of religion, proving that even sexuality cannot be destroyed even by a monastic lifestyle.

Peruvian artist Johnny Palacios Hidalgo is also a surrealist who paints paintings with erotic subjects.
