How humanity reached the moon

On this day, crew commander Neil Armstrong and pilot Edwin Aldrin landed the lunar module in the southwestern region of the Sea of Tranquility. The astronauts spent 21 hours, 36 minutes and 21 seconds on the surface of the satellite. All this time, command module pilot Michael Collins was waiting for them in lunar orbit. On July 21 at 02:56:15 UTC, Neil Armstrong took “one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.”
