In horror movies, villains can be accused of countless atrocities, including murder, betrayal, and lies. However, if you take the time to analyze their childhood or motives, they may not be as evil as they seem - or at least arouse a little empathy in you. This list in no way condones the villains; it just suggests that, hey, maybe they wouldn't have done so badly if their past had been different or if they had been treated more affectionately.

1. Carrie White.

The protagonist in Carrie is a shy schoolgirl who tries to survive without being disturbed or seen. She is bullied at school, and at home, too, is terrible. Her mother, who is very religious, never listens to her or talks about the changes that will happen to her body. Instead, she locks Carrie in the closet and yells at her to pray for forgiveness. A girl from physical education class, Chris, wants revenge when she has to go to jail for bullying Carrie. Chris, who is not allowed to attend the prom, falsifies the prom queen election so that Carrie wins, but only to shed pig blood on her. Blood-soaked Carrie uses her gift of telekinesis to set fire to the gym and kill almost everyone at the prom.
