For example, in one of the colleges of Legazpi City, in the Philippines, "hats against cheating" are in use. Photos of students of this college flew around the Internet and went viral in a matter of days.
It all started with the fact that Mary Joy Mundane-Ortiz, a professor of mechanical engineering at the Bicol University College of Engineering, asked students to come to the exam in hats that prevented cheating. The teacher was referring to paper hats that were used in 2013 in educational institutions in Thailand. The woman liked the idea and decided to implement it in his college.
Mandein-Ortiz said that the students liked the idea and they got down to business with a spark. Someone built whole structures out of cardboard or fabric, someone used improvised items, and some came to the audience in Halloween masks.
The teacher took a series of pictures of students in "hats against cheating" and posted them on Facebook. The publication received thousands of likes and hundreds of comments in just a couple of days. It was so popular that it interested representatives Media. Photos of students in crazy hats and masks appeared in the press. Well, before the worldwide popularity was already at hand.
Professor Mandein-Ortiz said that "hats against cheating" helped students to pass exams well. Firstly, knowing about strict control, they were well prepared, and secondly, there was a very positive atmosphere in the audience, which undoubtedly influenced the result. Apparently, exams in "hats" will now become a tradition in college.
The last time we saw such ingenuity was at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
