In the announcement of the results of the annual Portrait Awards 2016, the authors of LensCulture claim that portrait photography is something that touches people around the world. Why? Simply because people are interested in other people, and all without exception - from idols to passers-by on the street.

Photographers from over 100 countries submitted their strongest series and single shots to the competition. The winners were chosen by an international jury, whose composition can easily be called stellar: Anne Bourgeois-Vignon from Magnum Photos, LensCulture Editor-in-Chief Jim Kasper, Emma Bowkett, Iata Cannabrava and others.
