According to the approved rules, only US citizens who "got rich because of their fame, and did not become famous because of their wealth," can get into the coveted list.
The first in 2017 was director George Lucas, who in 2012 sold his company Lucasfilm for $ 4.05 billion to the conglomerate The Walt Disney Company along with the rights to the fantastic saga "Star Wars".

In addition to them, the top 10 richest famous people according to Forbes magazine included: rapper and music producer Sean Combs ($ 820 million), golfer Tiger Woods ($750 million), another rapper Andre Romell Young, better known by the stage name Dr. Dre (740 million), and a writer in genres thriller and detective James Patterson (730 million).
