Generation Z: Seven good and not so good features of modern youth
By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/generation-z-seven-good-and-not-so-good-features-of-modern-youth.htmlThere is nothing surprising in the fact that each new generation is different from the previous one. But representatives of today's youth, who are called "generation Z", simply have a lot of features and skills that make them truly unique.
However, if some of their "chips" delight, then others, on the contrary, frighten. For example, did you know that only 61% of zoomers use analog clocks? But that's not all!
Modern young people strive to always be in the trend, so they boldly accept any challenges that society throws at them. Including the Tik-Tok society. Trends are one of the main features of this social network. The bottom line is that someone sets a trend, and others try to repeat it, whether it's a dance, a song, a challenge or any other task. Sometimes this scheme reaches the point of absurdity…
It is not surprising that during the rapid development of social networks, many teenagers have learned to monetize their profiles. Someone sells something, someone receives donations from subscribers. And of course, where without a lot of information products, useful and not very. Even if not everyone likes it, but the fact remains that many modern bloggers are millionaires, and continue to earn their millions while others resist the current realities.
Zoomers are sure that higher education is far from the most important thing for a modern person. And in general, studying at a university is a waste of time, because during the years that a blogger will spend at a higher educational institution, he could have time to earn on his account by simply broadcasting his life or selling courses.
Speaking of courses. Self-development, oddly enough, is a priority for zoomers. But if representatives of the previous generation received knowledge in colleges and universities, then zoomers prefer to do it without leaving home. Young people take dozens of online courses, read educational literature, watch lectures and webinars. According to them, it is better and more useful than studying at a university.
Self-development for representatives of generation Z is not only courses and training. They pay great attention to physical and mental health. Many young people adhere to a healthy lifestyle: eat right, go to the gym, do yoga or Pilates, run in the morning…
In addition, they develop spiritually. Meditations, affirmations, the practice of gratitude, standing on nails — these are familiar activities for modern youth.
Despite all of the above, it is the zoomers who are most susceptible to mental health problems. Many representatives of modern youth suffer from anxiety, depression, emotional burnout, panic attacks, RPP… In a word, everything that didn't seem to exist at all before.
The reason lies on the surface — a long stay in social networks. It has long been proven that this has a detrimental effect on the psyche. But since the zoomers now have friends, work, and personal life there, they cannot give up social networks.
Generation Z has a rich creative potential, which they are not afraid to realize. Should I dye my hair pink? Why not! Dress up in the style of the 50s? You are welcome! Modern youth is not afraid of experiments and boldly goes beyond. It is noteworthy that this has had a positive impact on the stereotypes established in society: being a "nerd" or "out of this world" is no longer shameful.
According to the zoomers, every person is unique and has the right to self-expression. It doesn't really matter who he is — an eccentric or a non-ordinary person with an "interesting" orientation.
And now about the sad… As we have already mentioned, only 61% of today's youth can determine the time by an analog clock. But that's not all! Here is a very sad statistic concerning other skills of zoomers:
In addition, zoomers practically do not know how to manage their income (at least 48% of them), they do not count well without a calculator and almost do not know the rules of grammar. We think it's not even worth talking about such skills as the ability to determine the direction of the light, navigate on the map and provide first aid…
However, this does not mean that society is degrading. Rather, on the contrary. It is changing rapidly and what was important before is no longer relevant. No matter how sad it is, you have to come to terms with this fact... the world will never be the same again.
