But it's one thing when an adult girl consciously eats soap, realizing what this is fraught with. And it's quite another thing when a four-year-old kid strives to absorb everything he can reach. This is exactly the problem of young William Buckley (William Buckley) from East Yorkshire, Great Britain.
Cute baby William has a rare ailment - parorexia. This is an eating disorder, forcing him to eat completely inedible things. He eats toys, diapers, books and even furniture and it's useless to fight against it. The boy's mother, 32-year-old Marie Buckley, said that she did not immediately realize that her son was ill. Children often pull anything into their mouths and it is not easy to distinguish a bad habit from a disease at an early stage.
His mother suspected that William was seriously ill when he was already three years old. Then it became obvious to her that the child was trying to eat everything he saw nearby. Marie tries to be always close to the boy and takes away inedible items from him. But when she leaves, William gives free rein to his addiction and absorbs quite large and even dangerous objects.
Of the recent "achievements" of young Buckley, it is worth noting the eaten book and half of the new bed. The old one was so gnawed by the boy that it had to be thrown away. The new one, it seems, will not have to be carried to the landfill — it disappears into William's stomach with frightening speed. Before that, he had eaten several stuffed toys, a lot of diapers and countless different kinds of paper.
Marie remembers that her son also likes to eat hair and any kind of fluff, including synthetic. The woman works as an instructor in a fitness club, but part-time. Going to work, she asks someone to look after the boy, and if this fails, she simply removes from the room all the objects that can attract him.
Alas, it is impossible to foresee everything. The mother did not expect that, having not found toys or books, her son would take up the bed.
While the tired mother is in the arms of Morpheus, William can "taste" anything he wants. Marie Buckley repeatedly turned to doctors, but they were powerless. The mother's only hope is that her child will outgrow and the parorexia will recede by itself.
