McNeil) paints nude paintings using acrylic paints. About his works, the author says: "I write how light is attached to the female body." This is so — in the paintings of the artist there is always a play of light and shadow, favorably emphasizing the seductive curves of naked bodies.
S. S. McNeil lives and works in his native Toronto and in Miami, where there are so many inspiring her sun and women's tanned bodies. The artist's paintings are characterized by a variety of tones and shades, high contrast and bold experiments with light. Sometimes, to enhance some effect, the master combines acrylic with other paints - the result is always interesting and unusual.
S. S. McNeil never overloads his paintings with unnecessary details — they are mostly nude figures and a monochrome background. Sometimes fabrics appear, but the artist does not abuse draperies, leaving the maximum of the body open.
McNeil did not come to art right away — before that, she had worked in the field of marketing, branding and design for almost twenty years. Having barely achieved some success, the woman receives a heavy blow — as a result of the injury, her right arm loses mobility. It took the artist many months and great willpower to force her hand to hold the brush again and apply precise strokes.
Outside of Canada and the USA, the work of S. S. McNeil has just begun to gain the attention of the public, but in the USA and In Canada, her exhibitions have enjoyed great success for many years. The artist's paintings adorn private collections, and are also permanently exhibited at the Arts District galleries in Miami and Collection Privee in Winwood.
If S. S. McNeil uses acrylic to convey the beauty of the female body, then Steve Hanks does it with watercolors. To become a famous artist, this master was helped by... allergies.
