PictolicIrishman Allan Dixon is known as a self-proclaimed "animal tamer". The guy's Instagram is full of photos in which his grinning face can be seen next to kangaroos, ponies, camels and quokkas.

Attempts to take selfies with animals are usually unpredictable. How does Allan manage these clear pictures?

According to him, animals need to be "attracted, to gain their trust, being in their environment for a while. They are usually more afraid of you than you are of them."

You also need to turn off the flash and any sounds made by the camera, so as not to scare the animals. After that, you can enter their environment with a camera in your hands so that they think that it is a part of your body. And when it comes time for a selfie, you need to be ready to press the shutter button again and again.

"When you're close to them, they tend to come up and check on you," Dixon says. — There is a very fine line between curiosity and survival. The main thing is to let them know that they are safe being with you."
