"If I take pictures and they don't notice me, it means that I'm stealing someone's image, and if they look and see that I'm taking pictures, it means that they give it to me. I have this picture: three old ladies are sitting in the subway, sleeping. And my grandson is sitting between them, looking straight into their eyes. It turns out both donated and stolen, and given, and stolen," Igor Vereshchagin said about the title of the upcoming solo exhibition.

From March 10 to April 16, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art on Tverskoy Boulevard will host the exhibition Given & Stolen ("Donated and Stolen") by photographer Igor Vereshchagin. It will include more than a hundred works made in the genre of "street photography", as well as reportage photos from rock concerts. The exhibition will be held as part of the X Moscow International Biennale "Fashion and Style in Photography — 2017".

"How many truly unique portraits of Igor's work have I seen in my life! Hundreds of Russian and foreign musicians and artists are captured by his tenacious gaze. Some of his photos are among my favorites: Iggy Pop, Garik Sukachev, Tolik Krupnov. He has penetrated deeply into the very essence of his profession. A true master of his craft! In his hands, any camera — from a super—expensive DSLR to an ordinary iPhone — can work wonders," says Alexander Sklyar, the ideologist and leader of the Va-Bank group.
