The book of photographs "Inge Morath: On Style", published in September 2016, fourteen years after her death, takes us back to the days when the front pages of newspapers were full of photos of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.
Photographer Ingeborg Morath was born in Austria in 1923. When the Second World War broke out, Inge, who at that time was a student at the University of Berlin, refused to join the "Hitler Youth", and then she was sent to an aircraft factory, where she worked shoulder to shoulder with Soviet prisoners of war. When the factory began to be bombed by Soviet bombers, Inge fled to her homeland in Austria.
This intimate picture of Marilyn Monroe was taken on the set of the movie "The Misfits" in 1960.
Among the heroes of Inge's photo shoots are many celebrities. Including the style icon Audrey Hepburn. This photo was taken in 1959.
American artist Andy Warhol and French-born American sculptor Louise Bourgeois.
Inge Morat became known for her ability to capture the moment of intimacy in the frame, even when something extravagant is happening around her. Pictured is Yves Saint Laurent during her debut show for Dior.

In addition to Hollywood stars, Inge also photographed Viennese balls.
Inge has always been very good at capturing the real "human spirit" of the moment, as in this photo taken behind the scenes of a Dior fashion show.
American actress Terri Moore, known for the movie "Mighty Joe Young" (1949), is preparing to shoot, 1959.
But in addition to the representatives of high society, Inge liked to shoot ordinary women. In the photo of a student of the school at one of the beauty salons in New York, 1958.
