1. Girls in the company of cats, armed with guitars and brooms, go on a trip across Russia - this is the plot of a series of works by 31-year-old Omsk artist Yulia Zhuravleva.
2. Julia has been professionally drawing for eight years, and her main characters are witches living in the realities of modern life in Russia.
3. In one of her early works, young witches lived in an ordinary Khrushchev apartment building, went shopping on brooms, and worked as couriers in a delivery service.
4. The artist is inspired by mythology, the post-Soviet environment, and scenes of everyday life, and she loves to combine these elements in her work. She came up with the plot of the train quite organically, as a continuation of her early works.
5. In her drawings, witches drink lemon tea from glasses in traditional cup holders, make sausage sandwiches float in the air, and wave from train windows to other witches who prefer to fly on their brooms.
6. In one of the drawings, Baba Yaga throws pies at witches right through the train window.
7. In another case, two witches decide to use a cat to get revenge on a passenger for his torn (and probably smelly) socks.
8. In another, a golden-haired young woman looks out the window and dreams that she will soon go out into the street surrounded by nature.
9. The artist says that for several years she did not travel on a long-distance train, with the exception of a night trip from Moscow to St. Petersburg and back, but she still has fond memories of a train trip with her student friends.
