I want to believe in fairy tales not only for children, but also for adults. This applies to absolutely everyone, including people with a good academic education. Otherwise, how to explain the case that happened to the Indian doctor Laik Khan, who bought a magic lamp with a genie at the price of an SUV. As you may have guessed, the deal was unsuccessful, and the lamp was not working.

A unique "Aladdin lamp" was sold to a gullible doctor for 41.5 thousand dollars (3.3 million rubles) by fraudsters, during a carefully designed operation. Laik Khan was hired to treat an elderly woman, to whose house he came for about a month. The relatives of the patient offered the doctor to sell a magical artifact at a ridiculous price as a sign of gratitude for his noble work.

The "magic" lamp

The attackers convinced the doctor for more than one day, promising him wealth, honor and success in his career. The old lamp, in which the genie who fulfills wishes lived, was estimated by the crooks at 15 million Indian rupees, which is about 200 thousand dollars or 16 million rubles. But for Laik Khan, this amount turned out to be unaffordable, and the sellers offered to take the lamp "in installments", being satisfied with the first installment of 41.5 thousand dollars.

This is how the naive doctor told the details of his story to the police, barely holding back tears. Laik Khan realized that he had been tricked after the transfer of the money, when he was convinced that neither rubbing the lamp with his hands, nor tapping, nor even swearing in pure Hindi and even Sanskrit could make the genie leave his thousand-year-old shelter.

Fraudsters detained by the police

The deceived doctor turned to the police of the city of Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) on October 25 and the law enforcement officers, having laughed enough, got down to business. They surprisingly quickly managed to detain the sellers of magic lamps, who managed to leave the city and planned to have a good rest with the money they received.

Not so long ago, a young Russian woman, who was trying to solve personal and material problems with a deal with the Prince of Darkness, was left without jewelry and gadgets. But, you must agree, it is much easier for a schoolgirl to forgive this than for a certified doctor.
