“I met Amy when I took a photo for the cover of her debut album,” recalls photographer Charles Moriarty. It was 2003, Frank's debut album was just getting ready to be released.

During filming, Amy and Charles wandered the streets and alleys of the city with a bottle of white wine, filming the future star right in the process of working booze. In the photo, which will immortalize her first album, Winehouse smiles, standing in a pink translucent T-shirt. In her hands is a leash on which she leads a small black puppy. Dogs he and Moriarty sometimes borrowed right on the go from random passers-by. Black arrows - the singer's calling card - were completely different then.

In these pictures, there is no Amy, who would later become the main character of the paparazzi photographs. Here, on the threshold of glory, Winehouse is not afraid of the camera - she meets the truthful eye of the lens with a coquettish, life-filled look.

When Amy Winehouse died in 2011, Moriarty didn't know what to do with the singer's unpublished photos. He did not want to sell these photos or use them for vulgar tabloid episodes. He just kept them with him and did not have the slightest desire to show anyone.

Everything changed when Azif Kapadia's documentary "Amy" about the singer's life was released. The film showed what the media had never seen: her sassy sense of humor, boundless compassion, fanatical love for music, her courage and rare self-doubt. At that moment, Charles Moriarty realized that the early photographs of Winehouse should make a book that would best show the real Amy.

Now Moriarty is raising money to publish the book through the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform: “The book is important, because it contains a young talented girl on the threshold of fame. It's a great image of Winehouse that almost no one knows about."
