The art world discovered his work when he was sixty, and the photographer managed to arrange an exhibition of his work at the Museum of modern art in new York. Lartigue started with, that documented the time and the habits of his company's wealthy friends in Paris, sports and aviation. All his life he never parted with the camera. He was friends with the French superstars, but also made thousands of pictures of his family, wives and mistresses. From his work emanates incredible warmth and appeal.
Lartigue is best known for his black-and-white photos, but he just loved the color film and experimented with AVTONOMNYY process in the tenth and twentieth years. In the late 1940s he moved to the "EKTACHROME". His color work is amazing fresh and bright French country life, his women, his famous friends (Picasso, Fellini) and pieces of his travels Shine through the fabric of time and create the impression that it was only yesterday.
