The Liverpool Cancer Therapy Centre in Sydney, where Mark works, has launched the Dry July Shave Off campaign, in which participants will shave their hair on their heads in support of patients. Before parting with his curls, the therapist decided to capture them in a series of pictures in which he portrays the stars.

According to Mark, the reaction to the photos was very positive and his friends and family laughed a lot. "I received a very positive response from the general oncotherapy community, and many radiologists wrote me personal messages to express their respect and tell me how they liked the pictures," says Mark. He even managed to persuade the deputy director of the radiation department, Daniel Moretti, to dress up as Donald Trump for a photo shoot.

"All the people in these pictures are radiologists or medical dosimetrists who work at the Liverpool Cancer Therapy Centre. They really liked all my pictures from the very beginning, and when I invited them to participate, they could not refuse. Since then, everything has been on the rise! "— shared Mark.

Although the pictures turned out to be funny, there is a very sad story behind them. The therapist tells: "I had a patient with breast cancer. After chemotherapy, her hair fell out. It turned out to be harder for her than a mastectomy. It really touched me." That's when Mark decided it was time to stop getting a haircut. "For 2.5 years, my friends just got me with comments about who I look like with long hair. I took a picture of Scott Stapp (vocalist of the rock band Creed) for a joke last year and posted the picture on Facebook. He scored more than 150 thousand likes, which is a huge number for me, since I don't really understand social networks. Since this photo got so much attention, I wondered how many celebrities I could portray before shaving my hair, and whether it could be used to draw attention to the problem."

Mark says he is already used to his hair and is a little worried that he will become completely bald in the middle of the Australian winter. But he is not alone: 15 more dedicated radiologists, nurses and dosimetrists will cut their hair short, shave their heads completely or shave their beards to raise funds for the treatment of cancer patients.
