It is completely incomprehensible how we all lived without a program that recognizes a person's sexual orientation from a photo. Fortunately, Stanford University has finally developed such an algorithm after analyzing 35 thousand photos.
The algorithm correctly identifies a homosexual man with a probability of 81 percent if you present him with one picture. And if you expand the food for thought to five photos, the probability of success will increase to 91 percent. For women, the figures are more modest: 74 and 83 percent, respectively.
In order to find out how gay people differ from heterosexuals in appearance, the algorithm searched through several dating sites. And I came to the conclusion: narrow jaws, long noses and high foreheads are common among gay men. In addition, the haircut and facial expression say a lot. And the distinguishing features of lesbians are large jaws and low foreheads.
