But not all of them, due to their characteristics, are able to implement them, and only a few manage to tell the world about their talents at all. 27-year-old Huynh Thi Thanh from the remote mountain village of Hue, located in Central Vietnam, is one of the few talented disabled people the world has learned about.
Tan suffers from a severe form of cerebral palsy and speaks poorly, cannot move or even sit on his own. The only thing she can do is draw. Since the girl partially controls only her legs, she has to hold pencils with them.
The artist lives with an elderly mother who takes care of her and supports her in every way in her desire to create. Tan has two dreams — to get a family and start earning a living for herself and her mother with her creativity. An elderly woman, in order to support her daughter, sometimes pretends that she sold some of Tan's drawings to motivate her to live.
This little deception began after the mother asked Tan why she was constantly painting one picture after another. The girl replied: "I want to help you buy rice, renovate the house and much more." After that, an elderly woman sometimes takes her daughter's drawings to another room and shows her the money allegedly received for them. At such moments, Tan looks happy.
The mother understands perfectly well that drawing is her daughter's whole life and cannot allow her to be disappointed and stop creating. Tan's drawings are innocent and optimistic — the artist paints what she lacks so much in life, that is, family and children.
Women in bright clothes with babies in their arms are most often found in the works of a girl. Sometimes Tan paints plants, animals, or entire landscapes.
After the girl was visited by journalists, the world learned about her. But her fate still depends on her elderly mother, who takes care of her and supports her morally. It is very difficult to say how Tan's fate will turn out when her mother is gone.
There are a lot of people in the world who have proved that disability is not a sentence and lead a busy and interesting life.
