8 things strictly forbidden to IDF soldiers
By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/8-things-strictly-forbidden-to-idf-soldiers.htmlIsrael is a very small country, which, nevertheless, will not give offense to itself. In the short history of the modern Israeli state, there have been many examples confirming that the invaders are too tough for the invaders. This country can defend its interests thanks to not the largest in the Middle East, but the most disciplined and professional army.
Since the Israeli armed forces only dream of peace, the IDF soldiers are forced to obey strict and not always understandable to an outsider rules of military regulations. Here are just 8 of them, the most understandable for civilians, especially those who have never been to this wonderful country.
1. Ban on the publication of photos. An IDF fighter can be photographed anywhere, but only those pictures that were taken outside military bases and other strategic facilities are allowed to be shared. A lot of pictures taken at airfields and near hangars with equipment that can be found on the Internet are the work of journalists, each frame of which is coordinated with the military command.
2. Ban on some bales. Israelis greatly honor the faith and ancient traditions of their people. The IDF soldiers, who are allowed to wear a kippah in service, are no exception. But it would not be an army if special requirements were not put forward for this subject. A soldier's headdress should be without any inscriptions and symbols.
3. Prohibition of political statements and debates. The Israeli Army is out of politics, so its fighters are prohibited from demonstrating their commitment to certain views in any way. IDF soldiers not only cannot leave political comments on social networks, but also like publications on the pages of politicians and parties.
4. Prohibition on the use of passing transport. Although Israel is small, but even there there are places where it is not easy to get to by public. Despite this, it is strictly forbidden to use military hitchhikers. This is done for their safety, as terrorists can attack a soldier in a private vehicle.
5. Ban on card games. In Israel, gambling is traditionally frowned upon, and it is forbidden for the military to pick up cards at all. But on the other hand, soldiers can enjoy backgammon, chess and checkers without any problems.
6. It is forbidden to fasten the top button of the tunic. In the IDF, the buttoned top button is a generally recognized conventional sign of alarm. If a serviceman cannot notify his comrades aloud about the problem, it is enough for him to fasten his clothes with the top button and everything will become clear. In addition, all the buttons are fastened on the clothes of the dead.
7. Prohibition of non-statutory clothing. Military personnel who are on duty cannot not only wear civilian clothes, but also hold them in their hands. This is done so that the soldiers would not be tempted to wear it. Therefore, when making purchases, the IDF immediately hide new things in bags.
8. It is forbidden to listen to music through two headphones. A soldier of the Israeli army must always be on the alert, so everyone who joins the armed forces must accept that for the next three years he will have to listen to music with only one ear.
As you can see, even the strangest restrictions actually have a practical basis. But, despite the strict discipline, the IDF soldiers are no strangers to everyday joys and positive emotions, even among the military routine.
