By Vika https://pictolic.com/article/6-hygiene-mistakes.htmlTo be healthy, we must not only observe the rules of hygiene but also do it absolutely accurately. Otherwise, the effects will not be the same. It may come as a surprise to many people that they have been doing something wrong all their lives, even the most habitual ones.
We carefully studied how the average person observes hygiene rules and identified the most common mistakes. We suggest that you familiarize yourself with their list and take care of yourself properly.

1. We shower and bathe too often.
It may sound strange, but washing too often is just as bad as not showering at all. Washing too often makes your skin dry and cracked, which makes it easy for germs to enter your body through those wounds, according to a team of infectious disease experts at Columbia University. Experts recommend washing no more than once a day.
2. We do not wash our hands before going to the toilet.
You can find bacteria not only in the toilet but also around the whole house. This means that if you don't wash your hands for a long time, there are likely to be bacteria on them as well. When you visit the toilet, you touch the intimate parts, for which germs are especially dangerous. Thus, washing your hands before going to the toilet is even more important than after.
3. We flush the toilet with our fingertips.
The toilet is probably the dirtiest place in the apartment. Observations show that even 90 minutes after washing, dozens of droplets with bacteria are still on the surface. Therefore, try to flush the toilet not with your fingertips, but with the knuckle or the back of your finger. It can help a lot if you forget and touch something before washing your hands - you won't spread bacteria.
4. We sleep on the same pillow for a long time.
Down pillows are a haven for dust mites or mold. Over time, they can move to a person's face and cause problems such as demodicosis. This is another common cause of skin problems. The study says that dust mites can cause allergies that cause nasal congestion, swelling, and irritation of the upper respiratory tract.
5. We let our pets sleep with us.
It turns out that even at night we must observe the rules of hygiene. We do not recommend allowing cats and dogs to sleep in the same bed as you. Even the most well-groomed bear a lot of bacteria on their fur. It's hard to believe, but some of them can even cause bubonic plague. No, we are not talking about the Middle Ages, but about the present. Statistics say that between 1977 and 1998, there were 23 cases of infection with this deadly disease among domestic cats.
6. We wash our face with soap.
Some people mistakenly believe that if they wash their face twice a day with soap, it will be very clean and they will avoid acne. In fact, soap clogs pores and provokes acne. Dermatologists emphasize that soap was not originally intended for the face. When you use it, you destroy the protective barrier and disturb the pH level of your skin.
