365 names of the Enlightened Drevarch, or Why the tree-man gave up his roots

Until recently, residents and guests of Arkhangelsk could meet a cyclist in a white robe, with a green pattern on his face and angel wings on his back on the streets of the city. This unusual person is an environmental activist Drevarch the Enlightened and meeting him was considered a good omen. Today, an eccentric activist, whose real name is Andrey Khristoforov, has left his homeland forever, becoming a resident of the United States.

Drevarch the Enlightened is a real man-a meme that never ceases to amaze those who follow his life and struggle. Over the past 16 years, he has changed his first and last name many times, turning into a real nightmare for employees of the Arkhangelsk registry offices.

In recent years, Andrey Khristoforov has been a complete namesake of V. V. Putin, D. A. Medvedev, the governor of the Arkhangelsk Region I. F. Mikhalchuk, and even Gerard Xavier Depardieu. At one time, Drevarch decided to change his name and patronymic monthly and managed to register as August Letnievich, October Osenievich, March Vesenievich, December Zimnievich.

But manipulations with names and surnames are not all that the former sailor and entrepreneur Khristoforov is famous for. He became famous throughout Russia for his environmental actions, during which he did not spare himself or his opponents.

Andrey Khristoforov started his activity as an eco-activist while still being the general director of the Northern Rose landscaping company. Together with the business, the entrepreneur founded the "Plant your Tree" foundation and began to involve the residents of Arkhangelsk in planting trees on the streets and in the parks of the city. In a short time, Khristoforov and like-minded people planted more than 1,000 coniferous and deciduous trees free of charge, making an invaluable contribution to improving the environmental situation in their hometown.

The year 1998 becomes a turning point in the life of Andrey Khristoforov — he gives his company's shares to business partners for free, divorces his wife, abandoning his apartment and the rest of his property and takes the difficult path of an extreme environmental activist.

In 2003, Andrey also renounces his name, changing his passport for the first time and calling himself Posad Ekumennovich Drevarkh-the Enlightened One. In 2007, Drevarch, who has a maritime school behind him, received a diploma in absentia at the Faculty of Psychology, Pedagogy and Law of the Capital's Financial and Humanitarian Academy.

Meanwhile, the lifestyle and activities of the Enlightened Drevarch did not quite fit with the status of a mentally healthy person. The man walked through the streets in white rags and a homemade cap, which in special cases he replaced with a "flashing light". In 2007, angel wings and a GAZ-3110 drevarchmobile with a pyramid on the roof were added to the epic image. Often, the tree-man appeared completely naked in front of the public, explaining such a show by the fact that he is a tree and can do without any conventions.

No less interesting are the public actions of Drevarch the Enlightened, which he usually conducted alone. The list of the activist's tricks is too extensive, so we will recall only the most striking of them.

On January 8, 2007, Drevarch, wearing wings, climbed a 15-meter wooden frame in the city center and began campaigning to vote for him in the presidential election. Just three days later, on January 11, a man from the same frame, popularly called "the scaffold", shook his rags and chanted through a megaphone: "Putin for the third term".

After the examination, the tree-man hid for a while and showed himself only in 2009, again in winter. The activist climbed the main Christmas tree of Arkhangelsk and from its top began to agitate for a ban on cutting down live trees for the celebration of the New Year and Christmas.

Even the emergency services could not remove Drevarch from the tree and he agreed to return to the ground only after the mayor of the city and the governor of the region arrived at the square. Then the activist went down and with an important look left with high-ranking officials to the administrative building to discuss environmental problems. Right from the office of the governor of the region, Drevarkh Enlightened stopped by the acute department of the Talazh psychiatric hospital for three days.

In June 2010, Drevarkh was walking around the main square of Arkhangelsk in a completely naked state, graciously communicating with passers-by and generously giving everyone smiles. The Enlightened One did not react to the comments of law enforcement officers, which again led him to the psychiatric clinic that had become his native, where he again did not stay.

Later, the Enlightened One plunged headlong into the political life of the country, constantly nominating his candidacy for various leadership positions. Also during the presidential elections in March 2018, a man tried to scatter horse manure at one of the polling stations in order to"fertilize the elections". The police did not allow him to carry out his plan and, after calmly voting, Drevarch left.

But the struggle of the enlightened one with the construction of a large-scale landfill near the Shies station in the Komi Republic can be called particularly heroic. Environmental activists set up a whole camp near the future landfill and Drevarkh became its permanent resident. As part of a group of conservationists, the Enlightened One blocked the import of materials and workers for construction, and in addition, he himself made several individual performances.

On May 31, 2019, Drevarch shot the guards of the landfill with urine from a children's machine gun, and then smeared the excrement on the porch of the police station. The last drop of the authorities ' patience was exhausted when an activist tore off a stopcock in a train passing through the Shies station without stopping.

Despite his own recognizance not to leave, connected with the case of an attack on a police officer, Drevarch the Enlightened managed to leave the country and went to the United States. Before escaping, he gave a sad interview to the city's Internet portal 29.ru, in which there were such words:

So the northern city lost one of its symbols and an eccentric defender of nature. It is difficult to assess the personality of Drevarch the Enlightened without knowing this person personally, so we will limit ourselves to stating the facts and hope that no one will interfere with the former namesake of the president to express himself and protect green spaces across the ocean.
