Winning just one Oscar may be the ultimate dream for most actors working in Hollywood, but some performers refuse to let go of their ambition even after climbing the stage to receive a golden statuette and continue to push themselves to the limit in front of the camera in hopes of winning another Oscar.

While Oscar nominees are a very small group of people, history has seen some examples of actors receiving more than seven nominations, and the fact that all of these lucky performers are now considered legends shouldn't surprise anyone.

Here are the 10 actors with the most Oscar nominations:

Yes, the Academy does like to play favorites, nominating the same bunch of people year after year, no matter how many other talented actors are waiting for a chance to get the recognition they deserve.

In this regard, Meryl Streep is the most prominent offender, as it's no secret that most of her Oscar-nominated roles have been grossly overrated by the Academy, who seemingly nominated her just to continue the trend. Don't get us wrong, Streep is an extremely talented performer, and all of her Oscar wins are well deserved, but the amount of attention she gets from Oscar seems kind of unfair.

In any case, the stars mentioned above are clearly some of the most striking actors to ever work in Hollywood, and even if the Oscars are a bit biased, the amount of nominations they got is the clearest proof of that.

The Oscars 2024 will be held on Sunday, March 10, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The event is to start at 7 p.m. EST.
