1. Entebbe, Uganda.
If you are asked to compile a general list of cities in Africa, most likely Entebbe will not be in the top ten. However, one way or another, it has crept into this list of Africa's most visited cities. The fact that it's so popular is even more surprising when you find out it's not even the capital of Uganda!
2. Dakar, Senegal.
Dakar, the capital of Senegal, is the ninth most visited city in Africa. Its location on the westernmost coast of Africa means it has a busy port that has become an important destination for both international trade and, you guessed it, international tourists.
3. Nairobi, Kenya.
The 14th largest city in Africa by population, Nairobi is the eighth most visited city in Africa. It is the capital of Kenya and has impressive connections to the rest of the world. In addition to all the local businesses, hundreds of international companies have settled in Nairobi, which has increased the number of visitors from all over the world.
4. Accra, Ghana
Another amazing name on this list is Accra in Ghana. With a population of over 2 million, it is an incredibly large city that draws visitors from all over the globe. There are several attractions in Accra that are also attractive to tourists.
5. Durban, South Africa.
Its huge number of international visitors is for both business and leisure travel - Durban has the largest port in Africa, making it a "hot spot" for international trade. However, it is also very popular with holidaymakers looking for its warm climate and popular attractions.
6. Casablanca, Morocco
This year, Casablanca in Morocco is home to just under 1 million international visitors - and is the fifth most visited city in Africa. This city is considered to be one of the largest cities for international business both in Morocco and in all of Africa, especially in that it has an incredibly large port. In addition, Morocco is a very popular tourist destination.
7. Lagos, Nigeria
It is the second-fastest-growing city in Africa.
8. Cairo, Egypt.
The third most visited city in Africa is Cairo, the capital of Egypt. This is especially impressive considering that in 2014 it had about 150,000 fewer visitors than usual. Apart from all corporate visitors, Cairo is extremely popular with tourists as it is close to the famous Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx.
9. Cape Town, South Africa.
Most likely, Cape Town is the second most populated city in South Africa and the second most visited city in Africa. It receives a huge number of international visitors every year.
10 Johannesburg, South Africa
With over 4 million international visitors, Johannesburg is the most visited city in Africa by a significant margin. Johannesburg's economy is thriving, which plays a big role in the huge numbers of visitors, but it's also an incredibly popular tourist destination for vacationers all over the world.
