For some, the expression "relax away from civilization" takes on the most literal meaning.
They find silence and solitude in places that are considered one of the most remote and isolated corners on earth. We found 10 places where, despite the harsh conditions and remoteness from the outside world, people constantly live.

1. Moto, Tibet
There is no transport connection with this place, and if it appears, then, as a rule, not for long, and it all ends with the fact that the road is washed away by a mudflow or an avalanche. Its inhabitants have to overcome almost 80 km of mountainous areas to get to the nearest settlement. Despite such isolation, almost 11,000 people are quite satisfied with such living conditions.
2. Oymyakon, Russia
There is a short summer with a large difference in daily temperatures, and in winter the thermometer falls below -50 ... -60 ° С. Oymyakon is known as one of the "poles of cold". According to unofficial data, in 1938 the temperature in the village dropped to -77.8 °C. The rather difficult and harsh climate and isolation from the outside world could not frighten the 500 people who permanently live here.
3. Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland
Only 452 people live in this settlement. They can get to the mainland in only two ways - by boat or helicopter.
4. Reine, Lofoten Islands
A village called Reine on the island of Moskenesøy has a population of 329. The very modest size did not prevent the place from being included in the list of the most beautiful places in all of Norway.
5. Edinburgh of the Seven Seas, Tristan da Cunha
Until the end of World War II, a military garrison was located on the island. In 1961, a volcano erupted here, and the entire population left the island. In 1963, there were those who wanted to return to their native lands and restore what was destroyed by the elements. The island currently has about 300 inhabitants.
6. Huacachina, Peru
An oasis village in the Ica region, located five hours from Lima. Right in the middle of the desert, 115 people live permanently.
7. Undredal, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway
This small town grew up in the 1980s. Since that moment, little has changed here, except that some achievements of modern civilization have penetrated into the desert place. But it is still inhabited by about 100 people.
8. Pugtal Gompa, India
This is not quite a settlement, but a monastic community. The monastery, whose history dates back to the 12th century, is home to 70 monks.
9. Adamstown, Pitcairn Islands
This settlement is considered the smallest capital in the world. In the only settlement of the Pitcairn Islands, only 48 people live permanently. Most of them are descendants of the rebels from the British ship "Bounty".
10. Gasadalur Village, Vagar Island
This island, which is part of the Faroe Islands, is unanimously called the most picturesque by travelers. But only a few are ready to enjoy the magnificent views, while living in Spartan conditions - in Gasadalur there were only 18 people who wanted to.
