10 buildings whose demolition didn't go as smoothly as planned

Categories: World

Every year, thousands of residential buildings and structures around the world are dismantled. In this case, the so-called controlled demolition method is often used, in which the structure is demolished in one stage with the help of explosives. The main feature of this type of demolition is that the building collapses inward after the explosion, which makes it possible to destroy almost any building, even in conditions of close urban development.

If you have ever witnessed the demolition of buildings using this method, you must have been impressed by how simple the process seems to be. In reality, things are much more complicated, and the art of demolition is almost as difficult as the art of erecting buildings.

We prepared 10 "controlled" explosions, the mistakes in which in some cases led to comical, and in others to tragic results. Fortunately, no one was hurt during these events.
