With faith in the best: a 4-year-old boy with a tumor on his face does not lose heart, despite the disease
A baby with a face the size of a grapefruit has taken its first steps. A little Briton learns to live in spite of everything. It is difficult for him to walk and keep his balance, but he strives forward, no matter what. The four-year-old boy has already undergone eight operations to reduce the volume of the tumor, and more surgical interventions are expected in the future. His mother Emily believes in the best and says that her son inspires her not to give up and continue to overcome difficulties.
Alex Grabowski (Alex Grabowski) was born in January 2017 with cystic hygroma – fluid-filled cavities on the face and in the respiratory tract. The boy underwent eight complex operations.
35-year-old Emily Grabowski raises her son alone. The woman learned about his diagnosis at the 20th week of pregnancy. The British woman admits that she was afraid of what her baby would look like, but after the birth she fell in love with him with all her heart. They spent a long six months in hospital in Bristol. The newborn underwent surgery to reduce the volume of the tumor, and the mother learned how to care for him.
Alex will have to undergo medical procedures throughout his life. He is making impressive progress in his development, and his condition has improved significantly over the past year. The baby has learned to walk independently, and his speech is becoming more and more distinct. The boy still has a tracheostomy, which helps him breathe, and he is forced to eat through a tube, but the mother hopes that in the future the son will be able to eat himself.
Emily has another eldest son-8-year-old Roman. Taking care of Alex is not easy, but his mother says that his smile and ability to enjoy life inspires her. After eight operations, which reduced the size of the tumor, he was able to take several steps himself, keeping his balance. In the future, the boy is expected to have more surgical interventions to reduce the amount of education.
Most of all, the mother worries about how her unusual son will be treated by others. Most people now accept him with warmth, but sometimes Emily has to hear cruel comments. Some people say to my face that Alex looks terrible. However, for the mother, he is the best child in the world, and she believes that together they can overcome any difficulties.
We hope that little Alex will do well, as well as the Brazilian woman with the same disease. Despite the swelling on her face, she delights in self-confidence and inspires others not to be shy about their appearance.
