The coach with the help of Photoshop clearly showed how the ideal figure looked in different years
American fitness trainer Cassie Ho decided to prove to her subscribers that the ideal female figure does not exist. To do this, she photoshopped her body in accordance with the beauty standards of different years and shared the result in her Instagram profile.
Subscribers enthusiastically began to argue, which female figure is better? We invite you to join the discussion.
Cassie Ho appealed to her subscribers, in particular, girls, with a request not to chase beauty standards, because they change regularly. To prove this, the coach shared a selection of photos, which clearly showed what kind of figure our ancestors dreamed of and which is "in fashion" now.
1400-1700. Italian Renaissance — round belly, big hips and lush breasts are in fashion. Fatness is a sign of wealth and status. Only the poor are thin.
1920s. A boyish, androgynous figure with small breasts and straight lines has become popular. Unlike the "Gibson girls" of the Victorian era, these women prefer to hide their shapes and even tighten their breasts with strips of fabric to create a "flat" figure suitable for a cover dress.
The 1950s. The "hourglass" figure. Elizabeth Taylor Parameters (92 — 53 — 92 ) are considered ideal. Next come the seductive curvy forms of Marilyn Monroe. Women are offered to take pills to increase weight. At this time, Playboy magazine and a Barbie doll appear.
Early 90's. Thinness. Protruding bones, emaciated appearance, skinny body — this is what can most often be seen on catwalks and magazine covers. This fashion trend even has a name — "heroin chic".
Mid-90s — 2000s. Big breasts, a flat stomach and a gap between the thighs. In 2010, breast augmentation became the most popular surgery in the United States. This is the time of the Victoria's Secret angels. They are tall, thin, they always have long legs and big breasts.
Mid 2010s - 2018. Big breasts, wide hips, narrow waist and plump lips. Due to the photos of models on Instagram, there is a noticeable demand for the services of plastic surgeons. In 2012-2014, the percentage of lip and buttock augmentation operations increased by 58%
And this is the last picture that Cassie shared as part of this project. It depicts the girl herself, but without the use of photo editors.
At the end of the post, Cassie asked a question:
The fitness trainer urged other girls to stop paying attention to other people's "perfect" bodies, and treat their own with love and respect.
