The best gift for true meat lovers: bento with premium marbled beef from Japan
Japanese bento — packed lunches that schoolchildren or office workers take with them. Usually it is a beautiful, delicious and healthy food in a special box, which is quite inexpensive. But there are striking exceptions. For example, this is a bento with marbled beef worth 292,929 yen ($2,615, or 148 thousand rubles). It is a 60-centimeter box containing 4.5 kilograms of the best meat from Tottori Prefecture.

Wagyu is meat for which "teeth are not needed". This is the most refined variety of marbled beef, which is less common than others.
To get this unique meat with uniform layers of fat, calves are fed natural milk from birth to six months, and then grazed in meadows. When the bulls grow up, they are placed in separate soundproof rooms and restricted in movement. They are suspended on the reins, so that when their muscles are stationary, they nevertheless remain in tension. This position contributes to the uniform distribution of fat layers in the meat. For ten months, the animals are fed with selected grain, given expensive beer, they are massaged and classical music is played.
Due to the abundance of fat layers, the taste of meat turns out to be very tender and juicy. For the same reason, after slaughtering, it remains fresh for a long time. Surprisingly, the fat in this meat does not contain harmful acids, but, on the contrary, is considered useful. The fatter the meat, the more expensive it is.
The wooden Tottori Wagyu Complete Cow bento suitcase stylized as a cow carcass holds 4.5 kilos of wagyu marbled beef from Tottori Prefecture.
In addition to meat, a 60-centimeter polished reusable box contains seasonings, a bottle of pear and wasabi sauce and premium Kinu Musume rice, also grown in Tottori Prefecture.
The breeding line of beef cattle, which is called the "Tottori line", is known for its high content of oleic acid, which is also the main component of olive oil. It is thanks to her that such meat is soft, juicy and literally melts in your mouth.
Each piece of meat is in the box for a reason — the place on the carcass from which it was cut corresponds to the compartment on the package, stylized as a schematic image of a bull. Therefore, if desired, you can choose a rib, tenderloin, sirloin or brisket.
