The Monterey Jazz Festival is an annual music festival that takes place in Monterey, California, United States. It was founded on October 3, 1958 by jazz musician, saxophonist Jimmy Lyons.
The festival is held annually in Monterey County on an 8-acre site on the third full weekend of September, starting on Friday. Five hundred of the best jazz artists perform on nine stages scattered throughout the territory, with a total of approximately 50 concert performances.
In addition, the Monterey Jazz Festival offers you to participate in conversations about jazz, panel discussions, seminars, exhibitions, and just have a good rest and have a holiday.
