Retro beauties from the Miss Europe — 1930 contest
The Miss Europe Beauty Contest is a continental competition in which countries geographically located in Europe, as well as Israel, Turkey and Lebanon, take part. The first beauty contest was held in 1920. The event has more than 90 years of history, during this time a lot has changed in Europe and the world, and the standards of beauty have not remained the same.
In this collection we offer to admire the beauties who shone in one of the first European beauty contests. And at the same time to trace how the ideals of beauty have changed during this time.
"Miss Europe — 1930" was held in Paris, the winner was the representative of Greece Aliki Diplaraku.

The very first All-European beauty contest was organized in Paris in 1920.

In Greece, beauty contests have been held since 1929. Moreover, holding such a competition was considered a matter of national scale: the audience included not only the entire secular metropolitan and provincial society, but also members of the government, the Prime Minister and members of the royal family with courtiers. This fact will play a huge role: Aliki Diplaraku, world—famous for her beauty and the honorary titles awarded to her by the European seal — Spartan, Athenian and Greek with a capital letter - traveled all over the world, lecturing about Ancient Greece and Greek culture, promoting her homeland and inviting her interlocutors to visit the land where the European was born civilization.
