1. Ru Paul was born in California on November 17, 1960. When the boy was 7, his parents divorced, and his mother experienced this event very hard: she has not left her room for almost 2 years, regularly swallowing antidepressants. The children had to grow up early and carefully hide what was happening from social workers. Roo had three sisters, so at that time he was the only man in the house.
2. Ru's path to fame was thorny. At first, he lived on the street, played in club groups that became quite popular in a narrow circle, starred in amateur films.
3. In 1993, he sang a duet with Elton John song Don't Go Breaking My Heart. And in the video for the song, Ru appeared before the audience in the image of a black beauty, a real queen. By the way, in the West, artists appearing on stage in female form are called "drag queen" (drag queen - "disguised as a queen"). They are often confused with transvestites, while the purpose of dressing up at drag queens is precisely to entertain the viewer, and not to satisfy their sexual and other needs.
4. In 1995, Ru Paul was offered to become the face of the M.A.C. cosmetics company, whose products he always used when preparing to go on stage. For six years, this contract brought him about $22 million.
5. Ru Paul, whose height is 1.93 m, with Danny DeVito in 2011.
Unlike many other drag queens, Paul uses his male appearance more often in public.
6. At the moment, the artist has starred in 12 student works and 17 feature films.
7. In 2005, Ru Paul visited Moscow, and told a little about himself in an interview: "Until I changed my clothes and made up, it's better to address me as a man. When I put on a wig and a dress, I will enter the image — you can address me as a woman. I am unique — I am a woman and a man at the same time. Thus, I am more than just one person in my life. I have many faces.”
8. Quote from the interview: “I know that you are married and have children. How do they feel about their dad being a transvestite?
Ru Paul: — Oh, if you only knew what other dads do!!! I dress up as a woman only when I'm performing or filming somewhere. My wife loves me with all my “cockroaches”, especially since this is a business.
— So your children won't see you like this at home?
Ru Paul: — And why? Who should I dress up for there? Family — family, work — work."

10. A kind of congratulations from Ru Paul on the Day of the President of the United States: Ru in the "double" image of "Mr. and Mrs. Obama" on his page on the social network.
