Infidelity, third floor and singing briefs: sexual entertainment of ancient Indians
India — the country that gave us a unique guide to sexual practices. There is no doubt that these people know a lot about pleasure. The art of carnal pleasures they possessed in ancient times.
But were the ancient Indians of both classical and unusual ways of having fun and related traditions. The last we want to tell you.
It is known that the ancient Indians were engaged only caste sex, that is, only with members of their caste. All of these, there were five classes: the Brahmins — priests, scholars, Kshatriyas — warriors, Vaisyas — merchants, artisans Sudras — servants and untouchables. The last caste were the people with the dirtiest work, for example, skin treatment, garbage collection or washing. As a rule, they lived on the outskirts of cities and were deprived of many privileges enjoyed by the representatives of other castes.
But all strata of the population were United by one feature: their members could have sex only with people of their caste. And almost every bar had its own oddities on sexual pleasures, which are hard to understand for modern man.
In Ancient India it was believed that eunuchs belong to the "third sex". All because they gave oral sex to both men and women. Oddly enough, but representatives of the "third sex" here, respected and almost idolized. At the same time to the people who are in same-sex relations, the Indians were treated with disdain — it was thought that homosexuality was invented by the devil himself.
Lesbianism similarly did not cause others delight. A woman, love another woman, could be harshly punished, because the Indians believed that women are created for men. As punishment lesbians could shave the hair on the head or cut off two fingers.
Sex in India was used not only to meet physical needs, but also as a good way to dispel boredom. Wealthy Indians often held celebrations, which in addition to the main guests were invited and "touring" the country singers, singers, singers or dancers — they usually were not against fun.
Quite often it was a married woman, but with the permission of the men they were free to engage in intimate relationships with other men. At these sex parties were happening a lot. I will assume that the participants put into practice all the knowledge gained from the treatise of love.
In India there were several types of courtesans: the king's most honorable, geniki hetero (women, the leading free lifestyle), devadasis and prostitutes of the lower class. The first was well trained in the art of love and communication, so got good money from customers and was respected. Geniki was also skilled in bed and possess plenty of knowledge. To become hetaera had to be able to play musical instruments, know chemistry, logic, and even archery.
Devadasi, which means "God's slave," making love solely with the visitors of the shrines of the higher castes. The least "popular" were prostitutes of the lower class. Their clients were generally ordinary people in this country who doesn't pay for sexual services and treated the girls dismissive.
Most castes treat adultery negatively, especially if the sexual intercourse took place between the representatives of different classes. Women who changed husbands with someone of a lower caste, is not particularly punishing, but the lovers have decided to covet the lady of the upper class, guaranteed to be waiting for death.
It should be noted that the higher castes sex with servants, slaves and concubines was not considered adultery. But representatives of the lower classes could punish the slightest deviation from the rules.
