In Thailand, 12 boys and their football coach disappeared ten days ago in the flooded cave of Khao Luan. Yesterday they were finally found, all 13 people are alive. However, their ordeal has not yet come to an end — it looks like the football team will have to spend several months in this cave before they can be safely evacuated.

On June 23, sports equipment, bicycles and a motorcycle were found at the entrance to the cave in the national park of the Thai province of Chiang Rai. Later it turned out that the items belong to 12 schoolchildren aged 11 to 16 and their 25-year—old coach - they went on an excursion. The length of the Khao Luan Cave is 10 kilometers, it has several large halls. The young football players could not get out because of heavy rains that flooded the entrance to the cave. Since then, rescue operations have been conducted, and only yesterday the children were found.

This case shows how important it is for a child to be able to swim. You can find out from what age you can start and how to teach a child to swim here https://razvitie-vospitanie.ru/kak_nauchit/rebenka_plavat.html

Hungry and weakened, but generally unharmed schoolchildren were found by British divers John Volanthen and Rick Stanton on Monday, July 2. It seems that children will have to be evacuated only in October, when the water level drops at the end of the monsoon season. Experts said it would be "incredibly dangerous" to try to pull the boys out now because of the incoming water and the fact that the guys can't swim and they have no experience diving underwater.

While the option of teaching students the basics of diving is being considered, but it is still extremely dangerous, because they can panic underwater. In the meantime, two military doctors will stay with the school team, and divers will pass them food.

The boys, who are generally unharmed, have already been given an energy gel and paracetamol. Also, a telephone cable is installed in the place so that children can talk to their parents.

NEW: Video released of Thailand Soccer Team rescue

Video captured of the 12 boys and their soccer coach trapped in a cave; released by the Thai Navy SEAL's. The team has been missing for over a week.

The Thai Navy has published a video that captures the moment of the discovery of the missing. A recording of a conversation between divers and schoolchildren who answered in English confirms that they did not even know how many days they had been in the cave.

Children: 13.

Lifeguard: 13? Wonderful! There are only two of us here... we had to swim to you underwater. We're going, everything's going to be fine. More people will come. We are only the first.

The children talk to each other and ask the boy, who speaks a little English, to ask what day it is.

Lifeguard: Monday. A week has passed, and today is Monday. You have been here for 10 days. You are very, very strong.

Then the divers persuade the children to move away from the water. They swim closer.

Second rescuer: This is an amazing moment.

Children: When will you save us?

First rescuer: We hope tomorrow.

The second rescuer: The military will come tomorrow with food and a doctor with them. Do you have a flashlight? We can give you.

Children rejoice in the dark.

First Rescuer: We are also very happy (in response to a comment that is not heard on the video).

Children: Where are you from?

Second rescuer: England, Great Britain.
