Belgian photographer Carl de Keyser started working as a reporter in 1982, while simultaneously teaching photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Today he is the winner of the Book Award of the Festival in Arles, The W. Eugene Smith Award and Kodak Award and regularly exhibits in European galleries and art spaces.
The photo project "Zone", dedicated to Russian prisons, took Keizer 11 months of work, during which he visited and photographed about 40 colonies of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, which were once a GULAG zone.
