"Hairy muscular": Reddit showed the difference between male and female taste on the example of Hugh Jackman
A Reddit user under the nickname OfficialAlectPrasad, using the example of two magazine covers with Hugh Jackman, demonstrated the difference in the approach of publications to a female and male audience.
The author of the publication took a photo of the actor, which was made for the cover of the men's magazine Muscle & Fitness ("Muscles and Fitness"), and the cover of the women's edition of Good Housekeeping ("Good Housewife"). For Muscle & Fitness, Hugh Jackman appeared in the image of an aggressive and muscular Wolverine, severely frowning his eyebrows and straining his muscles.
On the cover of the women's edition, which focuses on family relations, the actor already looks like an ideal family man — clean-shaven, with a soft smile and in a calm pose.
On Reddit, the post entered the top popular entries and divided commentators into two camps. Someone thinks that the covers clearly demonstrate the difference between the psychology of men and women. Others suggested that the magazine "The Good Housewife" would attract more attention of women if there was an actor in the image of Wolverine on the cover. Someone noticed that gender has nothing to do with it, it's like comparing truckers and golfers. While heated arguments are tearing Reddit apart, we are in the editorial office (female and male parts) we also compared the photos and came to the conclusion that if magazines are trying to divide the audience by gender, then these covers did not hit any of the targets. Women would rather be interested in an actor in the guise of Wolverine, and men would prefer to read a magazine with a calm and relaxed Hugh Jackman on the cover.Or maybe the whole point is that Hugh Jackman is good in any image.
