Celebrities habitually replace each other on the stage: those who have lost their former popularity, sooner or later give way to new faces. Some continue to spin in the funnel of show business, others radically change their lives and choose completely different professions for themselves.
So did the artists from our review, once pleased the audience with their hits, and now they are doing their own thing. And, it is worth noting that many of them have achieved more success in their new field. Read more about the fate of the forgotten Russian celebrities below.
At one time, Vlad Stashevsky's star quickly lit up and just as quickly went out. In 2000, after parting with producer Yuri Aizenshpis, the singer released his first and last independent album "Labyrinths", which eventually failed. For some time, the songs performed by Stashevsky were still popular, but with the advent of the show "Star Factory", more modern and liberated performers began to win the hearts of listeners, and the restrained and romantic Vlad faded into the background.
But it didn't upset him at all. By that time, Stashevsky was already married to Olga, the daughter of the CEO of Luzhniki (by the way, a millionaire) Vladimir Alyoshin. In marriage, the couple had a son, Daniel. And after a while they got divorced... and that's when Vlad had to, as never before, get him in Moscow State University of Commerce management education. An American businessman suggested to the former musician to open a plant for the treatment of scrap metal and wastewater, which Stashevsky is still doing.
Outrageous singer Linda (real name Svetlana Lvovna Gaiman) still pleases fans with her creativity. However, she is unlikely to achieve such popularity as she had in the 90s. Once her songs occupied the first lines of all the charts, and the clips - gloomy and mysterious - received millions of views and hundreds of enthusiastic reviews from viewers.
Linda's career went downhill when she quarreled with producer Maxim Fadeev. After that, Svetlana had to do her own promotion and at first it was not so easy to do it.
It is worth noting that over the years, the singer's style has not changed much. And this applies to both appearance and music. However, now Linda began to experiment more with images. In her Instagram (by the way, with 56 thousand subscribers), you can see photos with light, dark, colored hair, unusual and diverse hairstyles, bright outfits and a bold make-up.
Timofey Pronkin joined the Hi-Fi group in 1998 and still performs on stage as part of it. However, this happens quite rarely, since the team is not as in demand as before.
Therefore, Pronkin at one time, feeling the decline in the popularity of the group, created a "safety cushion" for himself — he was educated at the International School of Design and engaged in the manufacture of author's furniture.
Sasha Zvereva has been the soloist of the mega-popular group "Demo" since 1999 and has spent many tours as part of the collective. Some fans are still singing the songs "Sunny" and "2000 years". But in 2010, Zvereva decided to leave the band and start her own career. This project did not bring the expected results, but the girl did not lose her head and began to conduct various programs on television.
Later, Zvereva moved to the USA altogether, where she recorded music and shot music videos for some time. After the birth of her children, the former singer decided to devote her life to creating clothes for expectant mothers, conducting training seminars on motherhood, and blogging. More than 1 million fans have subscribed to Zvereva's Instagram profile now.
In the 90s, Lika Star was considered one of the bravest and most extraordinary singers of the national stage! The girl participated in the filming of PlayBoy, appeared on stage in revealing outfits and shot provocative clips. Not many people dared to do this then…
But due to a conflict with the producer, the brave beauty had to stop her career. For some time, Lika was engaged in producing other guys, starred in TV shows and gave rare performances at national concerts. And in the early 2000s, she moved to Sardinia to her husband, the Italian entrepreneur Angelo Sechi.
Now Lika is raising three children - son Artemy from his first marriage, daughter Allegra and son Mark from his second marriage. She is also engaged in organizing gastronomic tours to Italy. In an interview, Lika admitted that she is very passionate about tourism and is happy with her current life.
Andrey Tsyganov, better known by his stage name Mr. Small, once blew up all the charts with the song "I will die young." Don't tell me you haven't heard her! This composition was a kind of anthem for Russian youth in the early 90s. And it seemed that no higher powers could take away the glory from the bright 13-year-old rapper, but time took its toll…
Soon Tsyganov stopped doing creative work and founded a yoga studio. Now Maloy no longer promotes alcohol and drugs, but stands for a healthy lifestyle.
Irina Saltykova has never had outstanding vocal abilities, but her bright appearance and natural charisma more than compensated for this omission. The wide popularity of the singer at the time brought the clip "Gray eyes". After that, Saltykova starred in the movie "Brother" and released 5 music albums.
However, she failed to remain on the stage among young and talented competitors. In the 2000s, Saltykova made several more attempts to return to show business, and then radically changed her field of activity, opening an atelier with the pretentious name "Irina Saltykova's House of Beauty and Style".
Igor "Garik" Bogomazov was a member of the group "Inveterate scammers" for 15 years! But when he got a family, his life changed a lot. At first, he and his wife Yulia were madly in love with each other, the birth of Varya's daughter is a perfect proof of that. However, over time, according to Igor himself, his wife seemed to have been replaced. She became "angry because of his constant hangouts, staged scenes after night concerts, snatched beer out of his hands and called him an alcoholic."
When Yulia's patience finally broke, the woman forced Igor to choose either "his abnormal life" or a child and family. Naturally, he chose the latter, but it was not possible to save the marriage in this way — they soon divorced.
Absolutely everyone knows these girls! Their hits "All About Us" and "They won't Catch Up with Us" are sometimes played on the radio to this day. And no matter how the fans begged the "tatushkas" to perform together again, Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova decided to go their separate ways.
Everyone's favorite band broke up in 2008, according to the official version, due to the conflict of the main producers. However, later the "blackie" admitted that by that time the group had simply outlived itself. The girls were 23-24 years old, each wanted to realize herself in other directions, pursue a solo career and create families — and so it turned out.Now Yulia and Lena perform separately, occasionally call up, but they no longer have any common points of contact.
Once upon a time, Andrei Gubin's songs were lit at all discos, and all the girls went crazy from the singer himself. But in the 2000s, he completely disappeared from the scene. Later, the singer admitted that "unbearable pains" prevent him from singing, because earlier Andrey was diagnosed with "left-sided prosopalgia of the face."
After completing his solo career, Gubin tried his hand at producing. One of his wards is the pop group "Caramel". The artist also continued to write texts for former colleagues in the workshop. Now Andrey Gubin lives off of rare appearances in talk shows, percentages from sales of old recordings and royalties.
And who else of the "forgotten" Russian celebrities do you remember? Are there any songs that make you nostalgic?
