Now the authorities are looking for those responsible for the fire that occurred in the quest room of one of the entertainment centers. According to preliminary data, the electrical wiring ignited, and the fire safety system did not work. Five teenagers were trapped in a fire and died. The tragedy happened on January 5, 2019 at 17.00 local time.

The incident occurred in the city of Koshalin in the popular quest room "Escape Room". Its essence is that players are locked in a room or building and they have to find the keys that will help them get out.

Interior Minister Joachim Brudzinski said that all the girls were 15 years old. The local news named the names of four teenagers, among them: Karolina Barabas, Victoria Julia Petras, Gosya Tymieniecka and Amelia Wieczorek. They were all classmates.

The representative of the local police Monica Kozec (Monika Kosiec) last Friday said that classmates celebrated the birthday of one of the girls.

The possible cause of death of the girls was asphyxiation with smoke gas. At the moment when the fire started, they did not complete even half of the tasks of the quest room.

Also that evening, a 24-year-old man was hospitalized with severe burns. He is currently unable to give evidence, as he is in critical condition in intensive care.

Tomasz Kublak, a representative of the local fire service, said that the bodies of the teenagers were found in a room near the fire.

Firefighters say that the entertainment center did not have enough security equipment and the necessary emergency exits from the rooms for quests.

The owner of the Koshalin quest room has been detained. According to the chief commandant of the police Yaroslav Shimchik, the prosecutor's office has launched an investigation. Now in Poland, all such places are being actively checked, which are very popular among teenagers. As a result of the inspection, firefighters urgently closed 13 game rooms. There were also 480 violations of evacuation rules in 178 quest rooms.
