Creepy ghost villages of Dagestan: photos and videos from drones
There are several abandoned ghost villages in the Republic of Dagestan-Gamsutl, Kahib and Koroda. The village of Gamsutl is located at an altitude of 1400 m on the top of the Gamsutlmeer Mountain and has a two-thousand-year history. The villages of Kahib and Koroda have also been empty for a long time. Let's see what these places look like now.
Gamsutl is called "Dagestan Machu Picchu"
These photos were taken in May 2019
It is difficult to get here, so there are usually few tourists
The places here are incredibly beautiful. Mountains!
Some life in Gamsutla lasted until the middle of the 20th century, and then the village began to die, people left
Get to Gamsutl is possible by climbing the mountain along a narrow path. It will take about an hour to go
Once there were about 300 houses in Gamsutla. The last resident of this place died in 2015
And this is the abandoned village of Kahib, which is about a two-hour drive from Gamsutl
It looks absolutely amazing — as if it grows out of a rock, forming one whole with it
The ruins here are adjacent to modern buildings
In May 2018, the Ruptly news video agency made stunning shots from drones in Koroda
This village is located at an altitude of 1500 m above sea level surrounded by rocks
The creepy corridors and passageways in Koroda are still intact, some doors are still tightly closed
For lovers of ancient ruins — what you need!
