Photographer Kurt Hutton (or Kurt Hubschmann) was born in Germany in 1893. He began his photography career with the German agency Dephot and moved to England at the age of 41 to work for Weekly Illustrated. It was in England that Hutton co-founded the weekly news magazine Picture Post. The magazine published his photographs, which were later recognized as iconic.
