Afghan Donald Trump: because of the name of his son, the life of the whole family went downhill
When a 28-year-old teacher from Kabul, Sayed Asadullah Poya, decided to name his son Donald Trump, he hoped it would bring the boy good luck. But since then, it has only complicated the life of the whole family, and the future no longer seems rosy.
Syed's wife Jamila gave birth to a son in August 2016, a few months before the presidential elections in America. But the young teacher Syed was fascinated not by Trump's political career, but by his business acumen. He read the book "How to become Rich" and without hesitation called his son Donald Trump, in the hope that he would become just as successful.
Syed's parents, of course, were furious because of the grandson's non-Muslim name, and the local imam read a lecture that the name offends religion. When relations with his parents deteriorated completely, Syed quit his job and moved his family to Kabul.
Things didn't get any better in the capital. Some time ago, a group of angry people demanded to expel Syed's family from a rented apartment as punishment for the fact that the man gave his son a non-Muslim name. Others accused Syed of trying to win the favor of the US president in order to get asylum in the States. But the man denies these accusations.
Due to constant threats, Syed and his wife even had to close their Facebook pages. The man says that he is afraid for the safety of the family, but he will not change his son's name.
