A children's nurse from Chester was arrested for the murder of 8 newborns and the attempt on the life of 10 more
Nurse Lucy Letby was arrested after a three-year investigation into the deaths of babies in the neonatal unit of Contess Hospital in Chester. A 30-year-old woman appeared in court on charges of murdering 8 toddlers and 10 attempted murders. The British woman committed terrible crimes in the period from June 2015 to June 2016.
During the trial, the accused gave only her name, date of birth and address. She didn't say another word. Friends and relatives of Lucy Letby were sure of her innocence. The Hereford resident seemed kind and sincere. The woman worked in the department for newborns since her student days, during three years of practical training. She received a diploma of a children's nurse in University of Chester in 2011. After graduating from the university, Lucy continued working in the neonatal department.Meanwhile, a 14-year-old schoolgirl from Novosibirsk secretly gave birth to a child and hid it in the freezer. She was afraid to tell her parents about her pregnancy.
