A 140-kilogram Briton eating chips wanted to be on the cover of a fashion magazine — and did it
30-year-old Daniel Wheeler from Chertsey (Surrey, UK) at some point realized that he had grown so fat (140 kg) that he could not even see his own legs. For Daniel, this moment was crucial — after many years of stress, he decided that it was time to change his life.
Daniel was working as an online manager at Toshiba Europe at the time. For a clear motivation, he set a goal for himself — in three years he should lose weight, put himself in order and get on the cover of Men's Fitness magazine.
Wheeler said that he had always been a chubby child, but never fat. His relationship with his mother was very strained, and at the age of 19 he was kicked out of the house.
"I lived in a car for two weeks, then finally found a place to live, and eventually got back on my feet. It was then that I began to eat up all the problems. At some point I realized that I was dissatisfied with my own life — I was unhappy, unhealthy and overweight. Besides, I broke up with a girl I had been dating for six years."
Despite the fact that many people told Daniel that he raised the bar too high to get on the cover of the magazine, he was able to achieve the desired results in 2 years.
The first thing Wheeler did was change his diet. Previously, every day he ate a large pizza, two packages of chips and drank 2 liters of Coca-Cola.He literally fell in love with dishes of chicken, pasta, red meat and eggs. Then he started running.
But it was not enough for a long time — the joints could not withstand such a weight and load. And Daniel started working out at the gym and working out.
The man began to lose weight so abruptly that even his own grandmother did not recognize him at one of the family barbecues. As a result, he dropped 50 kg.
In November 2012, Wheeler was on the cover of the British magazine Men's Fitness. But most importantly, he was finally happy, healthy, full of energy and loved his life.
The hardest test for Daniel was the loss of friends. "It turns out that some people are friends with you because you're fat in order to look better against your background."
By the way, Wheeler began to help people achieve what they wanted and created a business — "Fitness that changes life" (Life Changing Fitness).
