The band's hometown is Aberdeen, Washington. For all the time of its existence, the group was at the peak of world popularity.
2. Nirvana released Nevermind in September 1991. It was the band's second studio album. It has sold over 30 million copies worldwide, thanks in large part to the super-popular song "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Spencer Alden, the kid on the cover of this album, told MTV as a 17-year-old that he was very moved by the fact that so many people saw him naked.

6. Cobain performs with Nirvana at the MTV Video Music Awards. MTV representatives offered the band to play "Smells Like Teen Spirit", but Nirvana insisted on their new song "Rape Me". As a result, both parties agreed that the group would perform the song "Lithium". However, at the beginning of the performance, Cobain still played a couple of lines from the song "Rape me". In addition, a fight almost broke out at the concert between Cobain and Guns N' Roses frontman Axel Rose. It all happened after Cobain's wife had a fight with Axl Rose.

The Meat Puppets also participated in the recording. Cobain died on April 5, 1994 after shooting himself with a hunting rifle. He was 27 years old. The session album was released after Cobain's death and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.

This is due to the fact that the album includes really good songs. When writing them, only basses, drums and guitar were used, and nothing else.
