13 healthy habits should be abandoned
We all love to take care of each other. And all constantly hear about what to do for health needs, and what — not. Unfortunately, popular culture introduced into the consciousness of millions of people completely insane stereotypes.
Here are a dozen habits we arbitrarily consider healthy.
1. You use the table at which we must stand.
Recent long-term study, involving 4000 American adults showed that "standing" table does not reduce your chances to acquire chronic diseases associated with a sedentary lifestyle.
On the other hand, so do faster burns calories. So if you want to lose some weight, this experiment may be good for you.
2. You are afraid to sit on the toilet in public places.
On this subject the research was conducted and they all indicate that the most dangerous pathogens is thus not transmitted.
In addition, your skin is an effective protector and the killer of all germs.
The only exception is cases when you are hurt. If your feet or butt is cuts, wounds or deep scratches, it is in a public restroom is better to be cautious!
3. You don't eat bread.
That's only if you dig deeper, it turns out that this strange Allergy suffers no more than 1% of the population. All the others suffer from bloating, flatulence and other problems associated with the intestines, not because of the bread!
4. You drink fresh juice.
But in fact, his healing power is overrated. When you squeeze out the juice, deprived of the fruits of all fiber — a key ingredient that gives health, good mood and a feeling of satiety.
If you buy juice in packs, it is still worse: you are not charged vitamins, and sugar. The result: a sharp feeling of hunger, mood swings, chronic fatigue and muscle loss.
Remember: fruits are useful only if they are, not to drink!
5. You take tons of vitamin C, "not to get sick".
The top limit of consumption of this vitamin is 2000 mg per day. Any excess of this norm causes diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, headache and many other side effects.
6. Instead of whole eggs you eat only proteins.
So if you don't have cardiovascular disease, are generally not sweating.
Good morning eggs Benedict!
7. You buy antibacterial hand soap.
Don't listen to advertisers. Buy the plain soap and wash your hands only to them.
8. You are taking a multivitamin.
However, decades of research on this subject shows that vitamin pills are no good!
This does not mean that you don't need vitamins. But, first, they should consume only fruit and vegetables: what is in the pills, is practically not absorbed. And secondly, the vast majority of us are not experiencing any deficit in vitamins: we get enough of them from food.
Why do you need pills if you a healthy person?
9. You hold your breath if someone sneezes or coughs.
Just ask the person to cover mouth. Or sneeze in the other direction!
10. Are you afraid to "crack" your knuckles.
But actually this is not a crunch. It's the sound of a compressible gases, which give elasticity to our joints.
And recent studies show that if your fingers "crackling" more than usual, it's all good. Sin Kuchuk, the lead researcher and a Professor from the University of Alberta explains:
"We think this is a sign of illness. But the reality is rather the opposite: the louder crack when you compress your toes, the more "gas lubrication". So, the less chances you have to know what is arthritis".
11. You periodically try different "detox"diet.
If you were poisoned, then you already have a super-efficient filtration system is the most harmful substances that you absorb from food. It consists of two elements: the liver and kidneys.
12. You lean to low-fat products.
But since then there has passed a lot of time, and all scientists know that it's not working.
One eight-year Harvard study, involving about 50,000 women showed that people prefer foods with low fat content, no less likely to suffer from cancer and heart disease. Low fat foods do not help them lose weight. A lack in the diet of healthy fats just makes you sluggish, sleepy and irritable.
13. You are avoiding products from the microwave oven.
What makes microwave? It uses wave energy to make food molecules to vibrate faster and thus increase their energy as heat.
Of course, with this approach, some nutrients are falling apart. But this is due to the heating process, not with a method that has been chosen. Microwave you reheat food or gas stove — it does not matter.
On the contrary, there is evidence that microwave is the most clean and efficient way to heat food.
