These color photos were taken in Cairo in 1910, when it was growing rapidly. More precisely, these are slides painted by hand, on which you can see the long-gone times in the Egyptian capital. At that time ,the "city of a thousand minarets" was under British occupation, which lasted from 1882 to 1956.
