1. The Panama Canal has significantly changed the whole life of the country. Its actual construction took 10 years (from 1904 to 1914), and it is still of great importance for world shipping. During this time, more than 815,000 vessels have passed through the channel. Before passing through the Miraflores Gateway, all ships are registered. The canal attracts a lot of people and is the most visited place in Panama.
