Doctors have long warned that a sharp change of habits can be dangerous, especially in old age. 94-year-old Amu Haji from Iran, who for many years was considered the dirtiest person on the planet, probably did not know about this. He followed the lead of his fellow villagers, who persuaded him to wash, but after the water procedures he did not last very long and died.

Amu Haji died on October 23 in the village of Deiga in the province of Fars in southern Iran. He is known for not washing for more than 60 years. All this time, soap or water did not touch his skin. Well, except for rain, which is very rare in Haji's native places.

The man himself has never told how he came to such a life. But his countrymen said that he was prompted to abandon hygiene by a certain shock experienced in his youth. Amu Hadji lived in a squalid cinder block hut, which was heated "in black". Therefore, in addition to more than half a century of dirt, there was a layer of soot on his body.

Hadji's lifestyle was specific. He ate scraps found in garbage heaps and by the roadside, smoked a pipe with goat droppings and generally enjoyed freedom and the absence of conventions with all his might. Not everyone liked his way of life. One day, the locals lured Hadji into a car and took him to the river to basely bathe. But Amu sensed a trick and as soon as the car stopped, he jumped out of the cabin and took to his heels.

The dirtiest person sincerely believed that washing would deprive him of health and eventually ruin him. He was absolutely right. In 2022, the villagers persuaded the hermit to wash. After that, Amu Haji fell ill and died a few months later. The advocates of purity were at a loss — they did not want to ruin the old man and are sincerely grieving.

After the tragic death of Hajji from bathing, the title of the dirtiest guy in the world passed to the Hindu Kailash Singh. Of course, compared to the late hermit, he is a weakling, because he has not washed for only 22 years. But he still has everything ahead of him. Singh quite clearly answers the question of why he refused to wash. According to the man, at the age of 40, he swore not to swim until the killing of animals, wars and infringement of women's rights stopped on Earth.
